Varsity Head Coach Jed Garner has been coaching and teaching in public education since 2013. After playing collegiately and earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Lamar University, as well as a Master’s Degree from Ohio University, Coach Garner coached for multiple clubs (East Lake, Spindletop Select, Dynamo/Dash, Nueva Generacion) and worked with the soccer programs at Crosby HS and C.E. King HS before becoming head coach at Dayton HS in 2017. He has been the Eagle Soccer head coach since 2023. He is eager to continue working with our young promising student athletes and continue building the program. Coach Garner’s biggest supporters and motivation are his wife (Mallory), his son (Joey) and his daughter (Peyton). In his spare time, Coach enjoys traveling and having fun with his family, video games and watching movies. He is excited for a HUGE year at AHS!
Varsity Assistant Coach, Kyle Russell, has been coaching and teaching in public education since 2020. He spent his first year as a Volunteer Coach for Byron Nelson High School, his next year as a Varsity Assistant at Dayton High School, and 2 years as the Head Coach at Dayton High School. He began coaching at AHS in 2025. He competed throughout his childhood playing club, ODP, and high school soccer. Coach Russell graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics. He enjoys traveling, playing soccer, running, and fishing during his free time. Coach Russell is very excited to join the Atascocita Soccer Program!
Freshman Coach Mitchell Perkinson has been coaching high school soccer since 2021. He began coaching at AHS in 2024. Previously he spent 2 years coaching & teaching in Dayton ISD. Coach Perkinson graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in Health Education. His family is a very sport driven, both he and his wife Karly competed in Division 1 collegiate athletics. They have a son (Ryland) & daughter (Brynlee). Coach Perkinson is very excited to be in Atascocita and can’t wait to do great things this year.
